Resize and re-encode JPG, PNG and WebP photos in the page to cut their file size. Pick a quality preset and an optional maximum width, and the result is the smaller file — or the original, honestly labelled, if the original was already smaller.
What happens to your file
For supported tools the file is read with the browser File API and held in
memory on your device. It is validated, processed by the
Image codecs engine in a Web Worker, and the result is
handed back as a download. At no point is the file sent to a server.
What to expect from the output
The tool writes JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP.
Formats differ in what they can represent, so
expect transparency, colour depth and metadata to be handled differently
depending on the format you choose.
